[急] Family 表示"整体"或"成员"时该如何区分?

family 在句子中,何时该理解为"整体",何时该理解为"成员"?
(总是很难具体地family在英语的句中是按什么概念区分的,当用中文来解释时似乎两种说法都说得通.)
望有明确.详细的答案.谢谢!^_^
比如:
1.In summer,my family always _____(eat) lunch in the park.
2.At the moment,the whole class _____(enjoy) sightseeing trips in the city.
在这2个句中的family该作"整体"还是"成员"看待呢?

根据句意判断:如,
The family are watching TV. 此句中只能理解为"成员"看电视,故用复数动词are.
The family of my uncle is great. 此句中只能理解为是个整体概念,所以用单数动词is。

It's a family.这不就是一个整体，“家庭”的意思。
成员还有用family表示的吧？没太听说过呀

一般单数的时候表示一个整体，复数的时候表示所有的家庭成员。不过绝大部分的时候都是用来表示整体；表示成员的时候用其他的词，mother, father。。。
e.g. I come from a large family - I have three brothers and two sisters.
